Talascend is currently seeking a Chemical Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.

Overview


This role involves operating basic equipment, carrying out routine operational tasks, and supporting equipment installation, maintenance, and repair within a strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The position includes working rotating day and night shifts, with training on standard day shifts before moving onto swing shifts every quarter.


Responsibilities

• Operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following detailed instructions
• Assist with equipment installation, maintenance, and repair tasks as directed
• Support quality functions by adhering to strict quality standards
• Follow mandatory work instructions, including use of personal protective equipment
• Work within established settings or parameters to ensure safety and efficiency

Qualifications

• Secondary / Intermediate education (2 GCSEs) or equivalent
• Experience working independently as a practitioner
• Effective elementary verbal communication skills
• Ability to interpret and follow policies, procedures, and safety guidelines under supervision
• Experience in planning, organizing, prioritizing work activities with guidance
• Basic understanding of safe systems of work and risk management
• Ability to review and create straightforward reports under supervision
• Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education

Note: The candidate must be able to get fit tested and undergo a general physical. The work schedule includes rotating day/night shifts with potential on-site interviews, and initial training on standard daytime hours.
