As a Meat Cutter, you'll prepare high-quality meat products, maintain food safety standards, and provide excellent customer service in a fast-paced grocery store meat department.

What You'll Do

• Cut, trim, prepare, and package meat products according to store standards
• Ensure product quality, freshness, and proper labeling
• Maintain food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards throughout the department
• Operate meat cutting, slicing, grinding, and packaging equipment safely
• Stock and organize meat displays and refrigerated cases
• Monitor temperatures and proper product storage procedures
• Assist with inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction
• Train and support meat cutter trainees and department team members
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with meat selections and recommendations
• Follow workplace safety procedures and company policies at all times

What We're Looking For

• Must be at least 18 years old due to equipment and work restrictions
• Previous meat cutting, butcher, food handling, grocery, or retail experience preferred
• Knowledge of meat cuts, food safety, and sanitation standards
• Ability to operate meat cutting and packaging equipment safely and efficiently
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and store procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
• Flexible availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)

Work Environment

• Fast-paced grocery store meat department
• Exposure to refrigerated coolers, freezers, and sharp cutting equipment
• Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
